Lonely warmth

I am so sad
A sparrow flew by my window today
The sun shined through the stained glass
Far away a happy car honked

The sparrow chirped to the window
Then skimmed over
The Indian summer shaft of light
That touches my forehead

I think I smell the neighbours
Boiling sprouts

Staring out my window
I gaze at the summer
On the street
